A lot of progress has been made on the new shallow water boat ramp at Meadowmere Park on Lake Grapevine. The ramp itself is built down to the water level which is currently about 5 feet low. I talked to a guy at the ramp who thought that the new boat ramp had already been built to the bottom of the lake. As I went and took a look, it looked like the new shallow water ramp stopped right at the current water line.
Lake Grapevine is currently about 5 feet low. I went ahead and checked with the good people of the City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Department who informed me that the ramp had not been built to the bottom of the lake yet. They are waiting for the lake to drop even further before building it out.
The new pavilion and restrooms will likely be complete in the next few weeks. There is not an end date set yet on the construction of the boat ramp. We are still interested in seeing with our own eyes the building out of a boat ramp to the bottom of a lake. It is just not something you see everyday and it would be nice to see how the construction is done.
From the looks of it, most of the above water work is done and it looks very good.
