At the early April Grapevine City Council meeting, the Council approved the purchase of a new fire boat for the Grapevine Fire Department.  The new fire boat will replace the existing boat that was purchased in 1990.  The new boat will allow for all types of fire operations on Lake Grapevine including rescue and recovery.

The new fire boat will be 28 feet long and have an aluminum hull.  The boat and associated trailer will be purchased through SeaArk Marine which has experience building boats designed to fight fires with integrated fire pumps.  The cost of the new boat and trailer will be approximately $170,577.

Additionally, the fire boat will be powered by twin 225 horsepower Mercury Verados engines.  These engines will be purchased separately from the boat at a cost of approximately $26,507.

We look forward to seeing the new Grapevine Fire Boat out on the lake this summer.  We also look forward to the additional safety and service it will bring to our fellow lake goers.  As soon as we see the boat out on the lake and can get photos, we will post those here.

As always, please remember to practice boater safe
